Patterns
Are you looking to create a one-of-a-kind pattern to make a living or dining room and a hallway a unique and memorable experience. Consider embedding historical references or family history into your pattern. If you are looking to reinforce a design concept, you can accomplish this by creating a patterned floor.
Intricate Borders – consider using different wood species to make color changes. Try to tie the pattern to a theme such as mosaic, deco, moroccan or celtic. We can work with you to create your perfect border pattern.
Traffic Paths may be helpful in larger rooms. Once a furniture plan has been established, use a pen to highlight the traffic paths such as front door to back door or entry opening to a patio door. A traffic path can be created by using variations in floor patterns. Create a simple change in direction by changing the direction or size of the wood. Another thought is to fill the path with an intricate pattern. Last, but not least try using a different color stain or type of wood.
Design Centerpieces can be as simple as creating a medallion pattern. Expand upon this idea by making it a rug sized pattern. Be sure to create the pattern large enough so that its borders are view-able. Try using a herringbone, parquet or a diagonal pattern when designing the rug sizes pattern. To keep the focus on the pattern keep the rest of the room’s floor design simple (plank wood). One way to be creative is to include a family theme or crest in the design of the medallion, rug or geometric center piece.
